The first thing you will need to do is find a piece of material that can be used as an arrow. You can use anything from sticks to planks, but be sure they are long enough and strong enough to take the stress of being fired from the crossbow.
Once you have your material, you will need to make a hole in the end of it. This hole should be wide enough so that it can fit around the end of your crossbow. Next, use some glue and stick one end of your crossbow bolt into this hole. Make sure that it is well secure so that it does not come out during firing.
First, put your wood in the crafting table.
Put the wood in the crafting table and click on the button with a hammer. The crafting table is the tool that looks like a table with a grid on it.
You will see four slots in the menu, each of which has a number next to it. You need to put something in each slot and then click on craft.
The first slot is for tools, so you must put an axe or pickaxe in there. The second slot is for blocks of wood, such as planks or saplings (which are two different things). The third slot is for food items such as bread or beef, and the last one is for any other kind of item you want to make.
Next, take your Arrows from the crafting menu.
Open your crafting menu, and select arrows. You’ll have a huge number of different types to choose from. For example, if you want to make steel arrows, you can use iron ore, flint and feathers.
In this example, we’re going to make feather arrows using just one material: feathers. Select the arrow recipe using the left mouse button and place it into your crafting window (the leftmost icon). Now click on another icon to add the materials needed for this recipe. You can also use the plus sign next to each item name to see what recipes that material is used in.
Now that you’ve added all of the necessary items, right-click on any one of them in your inventory or in your bag and select “Use.” This will put that item into your slot ready for crafting.

The crafting grid is a 5×5 board, with each space representing a different material.
You can place items in the crafting grid to create new items. This is done by placing one item on each square of the grid. Each time you place an item, it will be replaced by another type of item (depending on what you have placed). The resulting piece will always be directly above where you placed the previous piece, with no gaps between them.
Once you’ve created your masterpiece, you can remove it from the crafting grid by clicking on it and then clicking “Remove”.
Now take the Arrows and place them back into a Crafting Table.
You should see that there are now “Arrows” in your inventory. This is because you have made a new item using the arrow recipe. You can now use this new arrow item to create more arrows, or you can use it as ammo for your bow so you can hunt some animals.
If you want to make a stack of these arrows at once, simply click on the arrow recipe in the crafting table and press Q to queue up as many items as you want (you will need to have enough materials).
This time, you’ll need to add two things to the recipe: Flint and Feathers.
You might have noticed that all three of these items are in your hotbar already. If they aren’t, you can find them on the ground – or just craft them yourself!
Place one of each item into the crafting grid. You can use your mouse to hover over each block and see what it is before you place it down.
The arrows for the crossbow cannot be made of flint, steel, or firewood.
The reason for this is that the arrow must be able to pass through a wooden target without damaging it. A flint arrowhead would damage the target and make it unusable. Steel would do the same thing as flint, but steel is far more durable than flint so a steel arrowhead might last longer than a flint one before it needed replacement. Firewood arrows are also not allowed because they can’t be used against targets made out of firewood (the target would catch fire).
So if you’re going to be using your crossbow for competition shooting (or hunting), make sure you have plenty of wooden arrows on hand!
Tinkers Construct is a great mod for making tools and weapons in Minecraft.
It adds a lot of different materials and tools, but the best part is that each material has different properties that can be used to make very efficient tools.
The mod adds a tool called the Smeltery, which allows you to smelt ores into metal bars, which then can be used to craft more advanced tools.
Tinkers’ Construct adds a lot of new blocks, items and tools to Minecraft. Most of these items require the player to have access to the Smeltery block. This block is used for smelting ores into metal bars and other useful things. The mod also includes a special kind of tool called an Aspect Hammer which can change the properties of certain blocks or items by right clicking them with it (for example hardened clay becomes diamond-like).
These tips should be able to help you with creating arrows. The next time you need to craft some custom arrows and have access to a crossbow, look back up at this guide. Do note that wool and sticks are easily obtainable with enough exploration, but the feathers can be a little hard to find.
